Bio
As a biomedical artist, I produce innovative visual solutions that inspire audience engagement with important subjects, prevent the spread of misinformation, and promote efficient learning. While an undergraduate in the Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration program at Iowa State University, I explored the integration of science and art by completing internships with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, BodyViz, and the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. Through collaboration with several research labs at the University of Madison-Wisconsin, I had illustrations published in several scientific journals.
Upon graduation, I secured an internship at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, where I collaborated with animators, designers, and engineers to create informative public outreach materials on NASA’s Space Launch System. My animations and illustration were published on official NASA social media pages, included in internal presentations, and featured at several NASA public outreach events.
I’m currently a Masters of Science student in the Biomedical Visualization program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, which is one of four accredited medical art programs in North America. I have demonstrated an enthusiastic approach to learning new skills, competency in numerous animation and 3D visualization techniques, and advanced understanding of human anatomy and molecular biology. Through my research, I investigated the use of Augmented Reality (AR) Just-In-Time Training (JITT) as a medical training tool for astronauts on missions to deep space destinations.
I endeavor to continue learning and exploring in both my professional and personal lives. My other interests include mountainous adventures, international travel, documentary photography, and sketching.
